Ruhr-CIX provides an interconnection ecosystem for the Ruhr region in Germany in order to fulfil the growing interconnection needs of companies and end users – for a better user experience, for better and secure cloud access, and for a more interconnected digital future. Our neutral interconnection platform allows networks to peer, to directly reach cloud service providers, and to use additional interconnection services.
The cities of Dortmund, Bochum, and Gelsenkirchen are jointly establishing Ruhr-CIX with the aim to expand the local infrastructure, and to attract Internet companies to the Ruhr metropolitan region. Ruhr-CIX is planned to be ready for service by the end of the year 2020 in the data centers of DOKOM21, TMR, and GELSEN-NET.
DE-CIX provides premium network interconnection services and operates several carrier and data center neutral interconnection platforms in Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Asia.
Founded in 1995, DE-CIX’s Internet Exchange in Frankfurt is the world’s leading interconnection platform, managing more than 9 Terabits per second peak traffic.
DE-CIX was one of the first Internet Exchanges worldwide to interconnect networks, and over the years, they successfully created interconnection ecosystems on three continents. They not only create, build, and run interconnection platforms, but build whole interconnection ecosystems for the benefit of all connected networks and businesses. DE-CIX makes interconnection easy. Anywhere.
